Sammy and Darrah side by side for the first half of the race it sounds like. Then right at the second half of the race Sammy kicked it in to gear and pulled away from the pack.
Swindell, Darrah, Schatz, Dollansky, K. Madsen - Top 5
They ran my FAVORITE.... mini sprints. They have a track in the middle that runs karts and mini sprints on Friday's.
But, one time for the Outdoor Network Craig (old owner) had a 3 day WoO show... Thursday was tape delayed WoO. So he didn't have a support class that night.... $25 to get in... 4 heats... 1 B... 1 A and done 45 minutes after time trials. Talk about some upset people. lol I'm glad Shannon (GM at the time) always let me in free. I think that was also the year it rained on Saturday... flooded... so in order to run Sunday the Outdoor Network used their helicopter to dry the track. It worked great.... too good actual because the track was so dry it was like that year for Nascar at Indy when they had flats every 2 laps.
Just found the results on the WOO site, 21 cars, 3 heats with 7 cars in each. No B mains. WOW, not what it used to be. I guess it was middle of the week.
No, mid week had nothing to do with it. I doubt that many would have been there if I-80 wasn't running a big 360 show this weekend. No one has a 410 nowadays. On a regular Saturday night Knoxville only gets low to mid 20's for 410's. 410's & 360's are all but gone.
I don't know how the crowd was but I know of a few hundred people that didn't go because they had mini sprints as the support class. Only a hand full of people that I know went... and up there I know most of the sprint fans. That wasn't Eagle Raceway's call because they didn't put the show on but if that is in their future... I guarantee the crowd count will be down to a few hundred like it is around here.
