Whitworth Spring Classic Opens the Season
The USRA Heartland Modified Tour Presented by Real Racing Wheels officially launches its 2026 season, this weekend with the annual Whitworth Spring Classic at Humboldt Speedway on Friday and Saturday night. The event honors the longtime owners of the storied southeastern Kansas Speedway.
Drivers from across the Midwest will converge on the ¼ mile oval looking to capture the first series victories of the season, and gain an early edge in the Heartland Modified Tour championship chase.
“Humboldt is always one of the races drivers and fans circle on the calendar,” said Heartland Modified Tour Series Director Erick Chesterman. “It’s a great facility with a lot of history, and it always produces outstanding racing. We’re excited to kick off another season of the Heartland Modified Tour Presented by Real Racing Wheels with the Whitworth Classic.”
Last season's Champion and VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year, Bobby Williams is back in the saddle looking to defend the crown. This time around he will be aboard and all new Hughes Racing Chassis.
Last year’s Whitworth Spring Classic delivered a strong start to the 2025 tour season. Randal Schiffelbein Jr. swept the weekend, among a highly competitive field to begin the season.
Fans attending this weekend will also be the first to see the new Heartland Promotions merchandise trailer, which will make its official debut. The trailer will feature new Heartland Modified Tour and RacinDirt apparel.
