Moberly Motorsports Park, I-35 Speedway on tap for HMT
GRAIN VALLEY, MO. (March 21, 2026)—The USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels heads into a critical early-season doubleheader this weekend with a first-time stop at Moberly Motorsports Park on Friday before returning to I-35 Speedway on Saturday.
Friday night’s visit to Moberly Motorsports Park marks a new chapter for the tour as drivers take on the high-banked half-mile for the first time. With no prior HMT data at the facility, teams will be forced to adapt quickly to the Moberly, MO racetrack.
The tour shifts to more familiar ground Saturday night at I-35 Speedway, where four previous events have already produced a strong mix of winners and memorable moments. During the 2024 season, Tyler Hibner and Tanner Mullens each found victory lane. Last April’s stop saw series ironman Dakota Dale break through for his first career A-Mod and HMT win.
When the series returned later in the year for championship night, the stakes were even higher. A three-way title fight between Brandon Givens, Shadren Turner, and Bobby Williams delivered late-season drama. Turner captured the A-Main victory that night, but Williams’ podium finish proved enough to secure the series championship in a tightly contested battle.
Coming into the weekend, Tyler Davis leads the 2026 championship standings at 186 points, on the back of early-season consistency at Humboldt Speedway. Defending champion Bobby Williams sits second, just 12 points back, keeping himself firmly within striking distance.
The battle tightens even further behind them as Trevor Hughes is only 13 points off the lead in third, while Shadren Turner holds fourth, 18 points back and brings proven success at I-35 into the weekend.
Rounding out the top five is rookie contender Cole Campbell, who has impressed early in his first season on tour. Sitting 29 points behind the leader, Campbell remains well within reach as the tour continues to take shape.
With a brand-new challenge on Friday and a proven battleground on Saturday, this weekend presents a major opportunity for drivers to gain ground — or take control — in the 2026 Heartland Modified Tour championship race.
