Duvall's Funkadelic Postponed to July 17 & 18, 2026
Grain Valley, MO (May 20, 2026) - Due to an increasingly unfavorable weather forecast across eastern Oklahoma for the upcoming weekend, event organizer Joe Duvall along with officials with the USRA American Racer Modified Series, USRA Heartland Modified Tour, All-American Outlaw Modified Series, Arrowhead Speedway, and Salina Highbanks Speedway have announced the postponement of the 2026 Joe Duvall’s Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza.
The event weekend, originally scheduled for May 22-23, will now officially take place on the previously designated rain dates of Friday, July 17 at Arrowhead Speedway and Saturday, July 18 at Salina Highbanks Speedway.
Forecast models throughout the week have continued to show a high probability of rain and thunderstorms beginning Thursday and lingering through both scheduled race days, leaving little confidence in the ability to complete the full two-night showcase as intended.
Event organizer Joe Duvall ultimately felt the best decision for racers, fans, tracks, and series personnel was to move the event now rather than risk weather interruptions, rushed programs, or the possibility of losing one or both nights altogether.
“At the end of the day, my vision for the Funkadelic has always been centered around creating a true two-day experience,” Duvall stated. “Not just great racing, but a full weekend atmosphere with fan interaction, racer engagement, and the unique energy that has made this event special at two of my favorite home race tracks. Moving to the pre-scheduled rain dates gives everyone the best opportunity to make the Funkadelic as big and fun as possible without constantly worrying about weather.”
Officials from both series, along with management teams from Arrowhead Speedway and Salina Highbanks Speedway, were all in agreement that utilizing the July rain dates now provides the best path forward for delivering the complete Funkadelic weekend experience.
The rescheduled weekend will continue to feature both the ARMS and HMT tours competing head-to-head at two of Oklahoma’s premier dirt tracks. Additional event details, including times, support divisions, and promotional activities for the July weekend, will be released in the coming weeks.
