Nextran GMC Championship Series July 3 Results
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (July 3, 2026)—Nextan GMC Championship series returned back to weekly racing action after a rainout a week ago. Starting off America’s 250th birthday there were 68 cars checked into five divisions and all night you would witness great side by side racing action all throughout the field. Point battles are shaping up in each and every division and nobody is giving an inch. Would like to thank all of our proud sponsors at Lakeside Speedway and a huge thank you to Herrick Siding and Windows for putting up $500 in the USRA B-Mod and USRA Stock Car division.
Pied Piper Pure Stocks had 11 cars checked in, #56 Joseph Smith Jr and #7 Marshall Jewett would start out on the right foot to claim their heat race win. Heading into the night Smith Jr had a 10 point lead but that would be no more as Jewett would ride that “Good Nuff” racing hot rod to Nextran Victory lane and take over the points by 6. #25 Tim Billings would have a really fast racecar and move up 8 positions to get the second spot. #0 Chase Galvan would get a bump at the beginning of the race and cause his car to lose control and he would go to the hot pit and come from the back to the front for the final podium position. Fourth place would be a battle all night long as the #56k Nicolas Smith would beat out #56 Joseph Smith Jr.

Deutz Equipment E-Mods would be a good show with 9 checked in as the #61 Jeff Degroot and #69x Josh Boyd would hustle to win their heat race. Degroot would have that car on cruise control come feature time and a late race caution would come out and restack the field putting the “Intimidator” right on the back bumper. Degroot would wheel his racecar into Nextran Victory lane. #51 Corey Myers would come home right behind him and #28 Tobin Bartlett would move up two spots to claim third. Fourth place would be #21 Vic Trankino with #5j Jeff Geopferich Sr in fifth.
Vintage had 11 entries with a newcomer for this year starting on the right foot #j2 Jack Simmons winning his heat race along with #00k Don Marrs. #j2 Jack Simmons clearly had the fastest car as he would check out from the rest of the field to park it in Nextran Victory lane with Don Marrs coming home second. Third place would be left to #5 Eddie Neil while fourth would be right behind in the #45 Steve Brown. Rounding out the top five would be Mike Lawless in his #71 machine.
19 Schweizer Performance USRA Stock cars put on three stellar heat races with #16s Chris Dishong, #42c Kacey Shields and #54 Eddie Ingram coming out on top first. Kasey Shields would start in the third spot and find his way to the top spot early to claim the early race lead but he had company. #16s Chris Dishong would ride behind the back bumper of Shields and cut down the hill in turn four to take away the race lead from Shields. From then on Dishong checked out and parked it in Nextran Victory lane. Shields would choose to go to hot lane resulting in him coming from the back in the very late stages of the race resulting in a 10th place finish. Second place in the #98 machine would be John Allen as he was towards the front the entire race. A pair of young guns would do battle all night and be anywhere from second back to seventh but in the end #15e Eddy Noll would claim the final podium spot making #35g Gavin Grier has to settle for the fourth position. Fifth place would be up to #46 Tim Pruett, moved from the Pure Stock ranks to the USRA Stock car.
18 Show-Me Whitetail Expo USRA B-Mods rolled in with a lot of feature winners in the house. #1k Tim Karrick, #8s Jon Sheets and #57s all proven winners as they would win each heat race. #8s of Sheets would jump out to the early race lead and it was his race to lose until a caution would fly. #12c Stephen Clancy would be put right on the back bumper on the restart and he would make the most of it and make the pass and ride it into Nextran Victory Lane for his second win of the season at Lakeside Speedway. Sheets would settle for the second spot with a living legend #1k Tim Karrick coming home third. Fourth place would be up for grabs as the “Long Haired Bandit” Kerry Davis would snag fourth. Fifth spot would be earned and credited to #57c Chad Clancy.
