Wagner wins USAC Sprint Car headliner at Lakeside Speedway
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (July 10, 2026)—Friday night racing at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., delivered strong competition across five divisions as the USAC Wholesale Batteries MRA Sprint Car Series headlined the Nextran GMC Championship Series program.
In the USAC Wholesale Batteries MRA Sprint Car feature, Jack Wagner of Lone Jack, Mo., charged to victory from the third starting spot and claimed the $6,000 payday. Ricky Lewis of Camarillo, Calif., finished second, followed by Xavier Doney of Odessa, Mo., in third. Trey Osborne of Columbus, Ohio, took fourth and Wyatt Burks of Topeka, rounded out the top five.
Wagner took the lead late after a caution period allowed him to challenge Doney, who had led early. The Missouri driver showed versatility by running multiple lines to secure the win in a field of 21 non-winged sprint cars.
In the Schweizer Performance USRA Stock Cars, Gavin Grier of Cameron, Mo., emerged victorious in a caution-filled feature that exceeded time limits. Eddy Noll of Lawson, Mo., finished second and Kacey Shields of Kansas City, Mo., rebounded from a spin to take third. Gene Claxton of Kansas City, Mo., advanced 11 positions to finish fourth, while Justin Seifert of Kansas City also gained 11 spots for fifth.

The Pied Piper Termite & Pest Control Pure Stocks saw Marshall Jewett of Gardner, dominate from the pole, leading every lap for the win in his “Good Nuff” machine. Joseph Smith Jr. of Kansas City, held on for second. A tight battle for the remaining spots resulted in Nicholas Smith of Kansas City, third; Don Marrs of Shawnee, fourth; and Chase Galvan of Kansas City, fifth.
Patrick Royalty of Kansas City, inherited the lead in the Deutz Power Center Midwest E-Mods feature when early leader Chris Dishong of Atchison, suffered a mechanical failure. Royalty went on to win, with Corey Myers of Atchison, in second, Jeff Degroot of Basehor, third, Tobin Bartlett of Atchison, fourth, and hard-charger Devin Dultmeier of Silver Lake, fifth after advancing seven positions.
The Mod Lites made their third appearance of the season at the track, with the Raffurty family dominating. Dillon Raffurty of Kansas City, Mo., started third in the feature, took the lead on the opening lap and cruised to his third straight victory at Lakeside. Justin Raffurty of Kearney, Mo., placed second, Michael Raffurty of Kansas City, Mo., third, Jeff Raffurty of Holt, Mo., fourth, and Tyler Furrell of Belton, Mo., fifth.
The night featured intense heat race action and multiple divisions battling attrition, with solid crowds witnessing wheel-to-wheel racing across the 4/10-mile dirt oval.
