I-35 Speedway welcomes 111 cars for Molle Auto Group Back to School Bash
WINSTON, Mo. (August 14, 2026)—I-35 Speedway welcomed 111 cars for the MOLLE Auto Group Kids Back to School Bash. Arrive Alive joined us early in the evening to promote distracted-driving awareness across the state. We also handed out plenty of school supplies, hosted an autograph session for kids at intermission, and debuted our new feature redraw on the front stretch. Thank you to all the drivers who came out during intermission—now let’s get to the on-track action.
The E-Mods rolled out first, and Tony Layne delivered a dominant performance. Jake Starmer challenged him early, but Layne pulled away from the #11J to sweep both the opening heat and the feature. Starmer, who won Heat 2, finished second, while Anthony Asher, Cameron Sample, and James Silkwood completed the top five. Heat 3 winner Zach Pride finished eighth.
Adam Dunwoodie won the lone Late Model heat race, but come feature time he could not catch Houston Johnson. The #24 built an impressive gap on the #24D and wouldn’t look back. Tommy Cordray would follow Dunwoodie in third, Vic Lovejoy in fourth, and Melvin Bailey in fifth.

JR Curtis led nearly every lap of the USRA tuner feature, but Samuel Moore waited until the time was right to strike, making a big move into turn one of the final lap and stealing the feature win. Moore also won heat 2, as Curtis picked up the victory in heat 1 but would fall one spot short come feature time. Jordan O’Haver would narrowly beat out Justin O’Haver in a family affair for third and fourth, while Brett Holman would finish in fifth.
The largest field of the night came next with USRA Hobby Stocks. Such a large field had a lot of fast cars, as we would have five different leaders throughout the feature. Chase Galvan, winner of Heat 2, and Gavin Grier, winner of Heat 1, were the first two competitors at the front, as they battled side-by-side early. Bad luck would strike both drivers, allowing Kevin Sather to get the top spot. Sather too would run into some trouble, ending his night and leaving the final battle to be between Trevor Hittle and Clint Baker. Baker too would have to end his night early, giving way for the 26B of Ben Berwanger to make a late charge at Hittle. It would all be for not as Hittle would pick up the checkers at the end of the feature to go with his Heat 3 win. Berwanger would follow in second, with Landon Brown, Brad Chumbly, and Isaac Dixon rounding out the top five.
The USRA B-Mods were up next, with Darrin Shaw jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. Shaw also won Heat 2, while Heat 1 winner Adam Dunwoodie showed speed early in the feature before going over the corner and losing track position. He later got caught up in a mid-pack accident but still managed to finish fourth despite damage. Shaw held on for the win, followed by Blake Hayes in second, Lucas Eddy in third, and Chase Moulton in fifth.
The USRA Stock Cars came next, where it was a side-by-side battle early between Austin Kaplan and Chris Dishong. Kaplan won heat 2 and would get the nod, but would pull it in the infield from the lead late. Dishong was the only car able to hang with Kaplan, and he would cruise to a feature win afterwards. Jake Hoover won heat 1 and followed Dishong in second, while Tyler Cadwallader, Austin Bouzek, and Doug Keller rounded out the top five.
Next came the USRA Modifieds, and it was Tyler Grooms who was looking to sweep the heat and the feature early. Unfortunately Grooms would suffer mechanical trouble in the feature, ending his night early. Preston Dawson got in the lead after the trouble to Grooms, but he would be unable to hold off the 97 of Houston Johnson. Johnson would cruise by for the victory as Dawson came second. Steven Glenn came in third, followed by Terry Vantrump and Andrew Thomas.
Glenn Sterkis won the beginner tuner heat, narrowly holding off Makayla Myers. Makenzie Box came home third, followed by Austin Sterkis and Calvin Robb.
That wrapped up Saturday, August 8th at I-35 Speedway. Thank you to the drivers, officials, sponsors, crews, staff, and fans who make nights like this possible. A special thanks again to the drivers who came to the front stretch and helped create a memorable moment for our younger fans. Be sure to join us next weekend for two special events at I-35 Speedway: the Mike Tanner Memorial and the Iron Man B-Mods. Full results are posted on Facebook and our website, and we’ll see you next Saturday night!
