Race Recap 10-24 for Season Ending race
WINSTON, Mo. (October 24, 2026)—I-35 geared up for one final night of racing on October 24th, closing its 2026 season with Larry Mcfee Night at the Races and MOLLE Auto Group Championship Night. With 98 cars ready for action and Halloween festivities lined up for intermission, the stage was set for an exciting season finale!
The E-mods opened the on-track action with Garrett Stonum’s championship already secured before the green flag flew—but the fight for the feature win was far from settled. Bubba Silkwood claimed heat #1 to earn the third starting spot, while Corey Myers took heat 2. Come feature time, Myers and Silkwood stood above the field, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. The deciding move came on the final lap: Silkwood swept past to snatch the victory! Myers finished second, with Jake Starmer right behind in third. Cameron Sample and Gabriel Allen completed the top five.

Just 13 points. That was all that separated reigning track champion Shaun Wirtz from Tyler Brown’s #189 in the Hobby Stocks—the closest points race of the year. Trevor Hittle won heat 1, and Wirtz answered with the checkers in heat 2. Then came the feature, with the championship still on the line and several contenders charging to the front. Hittle held off AJ Sayers and Cameron Seager to claim his sixth feature win of the year. Sayers, Seager, Clint Baker, and Brad Chumbly completed the top five. But the title came down to Wirtz’s result: seventh place was enough. Wirtz secured back-to-back track championships at I-35 Speedway.
Eleven cars. One final chance to claim victory. One of our biggest Late Model fields of the year gathered for the season finale—but who would take the final checkered flag? Tony Manley won heat 1 while Paul Glendenning dominated heat 2. In the feature it would be Late Model track champion Houston Johnson reigning supreme again. He and Glendenning battled early, but the #24 would prevail. Glendenning followed in second, Tommy Cordray in third, then Michael King and Tony Manley rounding out the top five.
The USRA Tuners rolled out next, and with the championship settled Brad Mick was crowned our champion for the fourth season in a row here at I-35 Speedway. JR Curtis picked up the lone Heat win but hand his hands full in the feature. Jayden Johnson led most of the race but Curtis would slip and slide his way by late to pick up the feature win. Dustin Grout finished second, Johnson in third, with Brett Holman and Chris Lewis following in fourth and fifth.
Adam Dunwoodie had his second straight championship locked up before the green flag tonight in the B-mods but still suited up looking for one more feature. In the heats it was Brayden Abram’s and Chad Clancy winning the heats in both 1 and 2 respectively. In the feature there was no catching Chad Clancy as he put on a dominate performance to cap his season at I-35. Dunwoodie gave chase but would finish second, followed by Dakota Girard, Chase Moulton, and Shane Lawson to wrap up our top five.
In the USRA Stock Cars Chris Dishong had the championship secured but put on a great battle with Tyler Cadwallader in the feature. Both drivers won their heats, Cadwallader the first and Dishong the second. In the feature Cadwallader held point but was never able to shake Dishong on his tail lap after lap. Dishong would have to settle for second as Cadwallader held on to win again this year at I-35. Austin Kaplan ran in third, followed by Brad Derry and Jake Hoover.
The USRA Modifieds rolled off next as Houston Johnson became back to back track champion here at I-35 Speedway. Johnson won both the heat and the feature after holding off a very fast Mark Dotson. Brad Johnson would finish in third, followed by Tyler Grooms and Terry Vantrump in fifth.
Beginner tuners were last but not least as Owen Miller lead them to the checkers in their night capping heat. Layla Hampton finished second after picking up two spots in one corner. Madelyn Myers, Derek Johnson, and Makayla Myers rounded out the top five.
