Mason City Motor Speedway Recap!
Heat race action at Mason City Motor Speedway for the Five Star Classic and Jon Tisor Memorial saw Kevin Karnitz (Heat 1), Brandon Allen (Heat 2), Owen Carlson (Heat 3), and Cole Vanderheiden (Heat 4) each pick up victories to kick off the night among the 29 entries. In the 10-lap B Feature, Jackson Iler led the way to take the win, with Eric Wilke, Karter Heiskell, And Brody Tucker, all locking themselves into the main event. Ashley Williams and Riley Dawson were allowed to tag the tail of the main event bringing the total lineup to 26 cars!
The 26-car A Feature was an absolute thriller from the drop of the green flag, running entirely flag-to-flag with incredible racing action all over the track. Outside front row starter Owen Carlson set the early pace, but 4th-starter Ben Schmidt pressured him intensely the entire distance. Ultimately, Carlson’s flawless navigation through heavy lapped traffic proved to be the difference-maker, allowing him to hold off Schmidt and secure the feature victory. Cole Vanderheiden capped off a strong run from 8th to finish third, while Owen Graf and Edison Aldrich rounded out the top five.
