Willis on Championship Brink with ARMS set for Deuces Wild

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Nov. 3, 2026) — The championship is within Talan Willis’ reach. Behind him, several positions remain up for grabs. And for everyone unloading at Texas Motor Speedway, there are still two more trophies worth chasing.

The American Racer USRA Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports closes its 2026 season November 5–7 at the Deuces Wild Championships, bringing a year of hard racing to a final weekend in Fort Worth. Thursday practice and qualifying will set the stage for complete racing programs Friday and Saturday, with $2,000 to win and $250 to start on the line each night.

For Willis, the weekend presents an opportunity to put the finishing touches on an outstanding rookie campaign.

The Elizabeth, Louisiana, driver arrives with 971 points and a commanding 114-point advantage over Stormy Scott. With only 200 points available across the final two races, Willis controls his championship destiny: earning the series’ minimum 45 points each night would secure the title even if Scott wins both features.

That puts Willis firmly on the doorstep of the championship—but his recent performances suggest he will be looking for considerably more than the minimum.

Willis has recorded three victories, eight top-five finishes and nine top-10 results in nine A-Main starts. At Route 66 Motor Speedway’s High Plains Hustle, he swept his Sunday racing program and controlled the feature from the outset. He followed that performance with another major victory in the Funkadelic finale at Arrowhead Speedway, overtaking Scott with 16 laps complete and leading an ARMS one-two finish against the Heartland Modified Tour.

Now, Willis has two more opportunities to add to his win total while closing out the biggest accomplishment of his rookie season.

Scott enters second with 857 points, looking to finish his own campaign with a breakthrough victory. The Las Cruces, New Mexico, veteran has four top-five finishes and seven top-10 results in nine A-Main starts, including his runner-up performance after leading early at Arrowhead.

While Willis has established a substantial cushion atop the standings, the fight for third offers a much tighter contest.

Drake Findley brings 770 points into Fort Worth, only 33 ahead of defending series champion Kale Westover. Findley has recorded five top-10 finishes in 10 A-Main starts, while Westover has earned eight top-10 results in nine feature starts.

With two complete programs remaining, that position is still very much in play. Findley will look to protect his place among the top three, while Westover has one last weekend to climb the standings before his title-defense season concludes.

Jason Hughes enters fifth with 694 points, positioned to strengthen his final standing with a strong Texas weekend. With the points behind him tightly grouped, each successful transfer and every position gained in the feature could carry added importance.

Bo Day and fellow Texan Rodney Sanders have both had success in 2026, and this weekend represents another opportunity to finish the season on a high note in their home state. Day had a strong start to the 2026 campaign, and at one point led the series standings after a trip to the Rocket Raceway Park.

Sanders enters with considerable momentum on his side from the Funkadelic. Sanders won the opening night at Springfield Raceway, chased Tanner Mullens to the finish at Salina Highbanks and emerged as the highest overall finisher across the three-night weekend.

In six A-Main starts with the ARMS this season, the full time USMTS and Northern Lights Series standout has recorded a victory and five top-five finishes. That kind of production makes Sanders a formidable threat to take home more hardware when the field assembles in Fort Worth.

The stakes extend beyond the standings. For every driver rolling through the pit gate, Deuces Wild represents a final chance to turn preparation, persistence and a season’s worth of lessons into a winning performance.

The POWRi Heartland Late Model Tour and POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprints will also close their seasons during the weekend, completing a three-division showcase with championship hardware and feature victories on the line.

WHAT DRIVERS NEED TO KNOW: NOVEMBER 5–7

Purse: Friday and Saturday each pay $2,000 to win and $250 to start for ARMS competitors.

Thursday practice and qualifying: Two rounds of qualifying on November 5 will establish heat-race lineups for Friday and Saturday. ARMS will then follow its standard straight-up format, with the fastest qualifiers starting at the front of their assigned heat races. Transfers through heats and B-Features will build the 24-car feature field before provisional starters are added.

Unable to attend Thursday? Drivers may still compete Friday and/or Saturday, but will start at the rear of an assigned heat race.

Registration and paperwork: ARMS registration is FREE but required, along with a W-9, for drivers who have not competed with the series this season. Drivers who have already raced with ARMS in 2026 have those series requirements covered.

Parking: The main pit area has 120 paved spaces, assigned in arrival order Thursday, with overflow parking available. Teams wishing to park together should arrive in the staging line together; spaces will not be held.

Schedule: Pits open at noon all three days. Thursday practice and qualifying begin at 6:30 p.m., with grandstands closed. Friday racing begins at 7 p.m. Saturday hot laps begin at 6 p.m., with racing to follow.
