Wolff and Sanders Win Deuces Wild Finale as Willis and Crigler Claim 2026 Titles

FORT WORTH, Texas, (Nov. 8, 2026) — Tyler Wolff passed Bo Day in the closing laps to win Saturday’s USRA American Racer Modified Series finale, while Rodney Sanders pulled away to win the POWRi Heartland Late Model Tour feature at Texas Motor Speedway. Rookie Talan Willis closed out his ARMS championship season with a top-10 finish, and Scott Crigler clinched the Late Model title by 26 points over his son Sawyer.

Bo Day took the lead from the outside pole and spent most of the 25-lap Pannell Chipping A-Main fending off Wyatt Gaggero and Tyler Wolff. A caution with four laps to go gave Wolff another shot at Day. After the restart, Wolff worked his way underneath Day’s CDR machine off Turn 2 and took the lead coming to three laps to go. He led the final three circuits to take the win after finishing second in the Late Model feature earlier in the night.

Day finished second, with Friday night winner Stormy Scott coming from seventh to complete the podium. Gaggero finished fourth and Tyler Stevens rounded out the top five.

Willis, who clinched the championship with a third-place finish Friday, finished ninth in the finale. The Elizabeth, Louisiana, rookie ended his first season in a Modified with 1,136 points, 88 ahead of Scott. Kale Westover finished third in the final standings with 899 points.

“I wouldn’t say I was playing it safe. I just wasn’t very good there in the A-Feature tonight,” Willis said. “So we’ll go back and look at that and get it figured out. We weren’t even really going to points race this year. This is my first year in a Mod and I’ve never points raced before, but I told my dad I think if we just go and try to win every race and do the best we can, we’ll let things fall where they may and it all worked out.”

Chad Melton won the Real Racing Wheels B-Main. Wolff won the Rick Beebe Heating & Air Conditioning Heat 1, Westover took the Smith Equipment Company Heat 2, Gaggero won the Kevko Racing Heat 3 and Day claimed the Swift Springs Heat 4. In Thursday’s Deatherage Opticians Qualifying for the finale, Chris Henigan topped Group A and set the overall quick time at 17.813 seconds. Gaggero led Group B at 17.873.

Rodney Sanders and Friday night winner Eli Ross battled early in the 25-lap Pannell Chipping A-Main. Ross caught the thin cushion in Turns 3 and 4 and got into the outside fence, leaving his car too damaged to continue. Sanders took command when the field returned to green and went unchallenged the rest of the way. Wolff came from fifth to finish second, and rookie Kayden Clatt took third.

Sawyer Crigler entered the finale 29 points behind his father and put as many as three cars between them early in the race. Scott worked his way forward and closed the gap, finishing fifth directly behind Sawyer in fourth. That secured the championship for Scott with 1,012 points to Sawyer’s 986. Clatt finished third in the final standings with 876 points.

“It’s been a nerve-racking week,” Scott Crigler said. “It’s hard to come here and just not let it all hang out as much as I can. But I knew a flat tire or anything wouldn’t be good. My boy [Sawyer], he was good all night long, and that’s the first time in a while that he beat me, but it was a good night.”

Clatt topped Thursday’s Deatherage Opticians Qualifying for the finale with a lap of 15.909 seconds. Sanders won the Rick Beebe Heating and Air Conditioning Heat 1, and Ross won the Smith Equipment Company Heat 2.
