EL PASO, Texas -- The 35th anniversary season opener for the ASCS 305 Sprint Cars, USRA X-mods, Casa Nissan Legends, was "Dynamite" plus the Super Trucks, and the Out west Express USRA Street Stocks continued thier season in race number two of the El Paso Speedway Park 2014 season.

Seven Super Trucks checked in for competition. The "Silver City Bullet" John Delph broke is throttle while unloading the truck from the trailer!! A ton of good sportsmanship in the pits, as John Delph got the parts he needed to take the green flag for competition. In the main John Delph was running second to the number six of Walton Kyle Sr. Later Walton would spin out all by himself, and went to the back. Ismael Garcia in 44L would take over, while John Delph was trying to pass him. John would fall back. Ismael Garcia checked out after that. Plus Kenny Alons, and Matt Higby would race to 2nd and 3rd. Ismael Garcia would win the second race of the season for the Super Trucks.

Ten Out west Express USRA Street Stocks checked in for battle. At the start John McDaniel checked out, and was gone! No one could catch him. The number 2 of Anthony Vega was the only car up to speed with John, but had nothing for him. A single file race it was in the front. In the back Michael Medina would fight to stay in the top five with Justin Lasiter, Jesse Holmes, and Robert Vega. Those four drivers would go 3 wide, side by side for position all night. Alamogordo, New Mexico racer John McDaniel would take the win though, after an upsetting 8th place finish last week.

The Casa Nissan Legends put one interesting show! Three drivers decided to tag the field witch where the 77 of Brady Labree, the 77c of Cj Hulsey, and Albuquerque, New Mexico racer Joshua Jackson. At the green Joe Alvarado took off! But Tom Zuloaga wouldn't let go of his back bumper. Tom would try to get around in the inside but couldn't. Tom almost had a run until 2 laps in we had a yellow for JOSHUA JACKSON!! Jackson who was charging to front fast, had hit the wall. Jackson and his crew would load it on the trailer and miss out on the final 18 laps. At the restart Joe Alvarado took off, Tom right behind him in 1x. Tristin Gattis was fast tonight as he was running in the top 3!! With fifteenth laps to go, he would spin out to slow things down with a yellow flag. Later another upset for Brady Labree! He had made it into the top 5, and got in a crash in turn 3! His night would come to an end. His teammate Cj Hulsey would also pull off. After all the cautions Joe Alvarado was just getting faster and faster, UNTIL a RED FLAG came out! This red flag was waved because your LEADER Joe Alvarado in 36 was a "Fireball" coming out of turn 4! Joes night would come to an end. A ton of upsets, but one happy camper witch was Tom Zuloaga as he would win the wild 20 lap main event for the Casa Nissan Legends!!

A sort of same kind of race as the Casa Nissan Legends but with better results for the drivers. The 20 lap USRA X-mod main event was stacked as they had 16 check in. At the green Carlos Ahumada would have one of his best runs ever, as he would take off to lead by a whole straightaway. Patrick Carney, and Christy Georges would follow. Later a yellow would fly for CARLOS AHUMADA! Carlos had spun out by him self. Carlos wasn't done though, he would try to come back to the front. So Patrick Carney your 2012 track champion would show the way with Christy Georges all over him. Christy would try the top but nothing their for her. Christy would not wait anymore and would stick it in the bottom of turns two like you wouldn't belive, and would take the lead for Carney! Later Christy would just check out. Paddy Rush would fight to second and would have company! Look who is back the 65x of Carlos Ahumada! Carlos had to drive the wheels of that machine to get back to 2nd! Paddy would come home 3rd. But your winner for the USRA X-mods is Christy Georges in 44!

In the ASCS 305 Winged Sprint Cars it was one "DYNAMITE" main event!! The top eight redraw was the key tonight. The number 9 of Robert Herrera got the pole position, with Cesar Fuentes outside pole, and Kyle Sager starting 4th. So these three drivers but a show! Robert Herrera would win the drag race into the first corners of the race. Cesar Fuentes would fight in the bottom and drag race Herrea just for a second, as Cesar couldn't but his front nose wing on top of the chart. Sager would get around Cesar Fuentes for 2nd. Now Sager saw what Fuentes did in the bottom so he would do the same! HERREA AND SAGER WHERE SIDE BY SIDE FOR 4 LAPS! Sager would get the lead, BUT! A caution would wave for the 148 of Don Grable blocking the pit entrance. So due to the yellow we line the drivers up the way they past the loop the lap before the yellow. So Herrera would redeem the lead!! At the green Sager tried to do it again but couldn't get around Robert no more. Now look at this Robert Herrea has not raved his number 9 machine since the season of 2012, and came back out and won the 35th Anniversary season opener for the ASCS 305 SPRINT CARS!!

A 2014 interesting season is what to come up after tonight! Next Friday night is the return of the USRA Barnett Harley Davidson Dirt Modifieds, Out west Express USRA Street Stocks, Southwest Late Models presented by Indy Screen Print, Hornets, and the Bombers. Hope to see you next Friday night as gates open at 5:30, and racing stats at 7:45.
