Three for Three for Turner and Fuentes!
A great night to go racing, it was a quick fun night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway for the Casa Nissan Legends, USRA Street Stocks, USRA X-Mods, and the ASCS 305 Sprint Cars.
In the USRA Street Stocks Lloyd Turner jumped to the lead, and jumped to a straightaway lead. Noah Hollingshead and Justin Lasiter would race behind him. Lloyd Turner won his heat race, dash for cash, and the main event tonight. Turner gets three main events in a row with tonight.
A great race took place in the Legends. Tanner Woody, Mike Zuloaga, and Steve Arellano would battle for the lead, until Tanner Woody got tangled up with another driver on the track. He would go to the back. In the front it was Mike Zuloaga side by side with Steven Arellano for the lead. Steven would clear Zuloaga. Things would calm down and Steve Arellano would win the Casa Nissan Legends main event.
What a dominant performance put on tonight by Steve Ray! He would wax the field in his heat race by almost a half track, now in the main he started in the front row with Michael Gonzalez. Gonzalez and Ray would go side by side for a second, but Steve Ray would get the lead. Steve Ray never looked back, and went to a different zip code! Steve Ray would clean sweep the USRA X-Mods.
What a race in the ASCS 305 Winged Sprint Cars!! Cesar Fuentes and Kyle Sager are going at it for the championship, and they would start together in row five. Fuentes jumped to fourth quickly until, Shawn Sander, and Derek Demartino two wheeled their cars in four. They would battle tight race cars. Fuentes jumped to the second spot with Kyle Sager following. Later, Cesar Fuentes got around Brandon Shure for the lead. After that, Cesar Fuentes jumped to a huge lead, with Kyle Sager following. A caution would come out for the #21 of Kyle McCutcheon. McCutcheon would come to a stop. At the restart Kyle Sager picked the high line, and his motor drowned with to much fuel. His car wouldn't launch, until it kicked in down the back straight. With two laps to go, Sager was catching Fuentes. At the checker flag Cesar Fuentes would pick up his third win of the year at the Southern New Mexico Speedway!!
The season is coming down to the wire! Come out to our two last points races to see who gets crowned as a champion!
