"Dynamite" End to the 2014 Season!
Talk about entertainment! A lot of new great fans came out and they were not disappointed. We hosted the Bombers, Casa Nissan Legends, USRA Street Stocks, USRA X-Mods, ASCS 305 Winged Sprint Cars, and the Super Trucks!
Pete Vargas made it look easy in the Bombers, as he would lead by a bunch. Jason Gransbury and Mike Mays would battle for second. Later Jason would slip to the back, with Gary Mays coming to the front. Time would run out for Gary Mays, as he was coming with Mike Mays! Pete Vargas wins the main event for the Bombers, and Gary Mays wins the Bomber Championship!
Dusty Riggs, and Joshua Jackson took the spotlight in the Casa Nissan Legends of the Southwest. It was a site by side battle, until Joshua Jackson thunder passed Dusty Riggs for the win!
He won the past four USRA Street Stock main events, plus the 200 Lap Fall Enduro Friday night! Lloyd Turner who has been unstoppable would search for a six pack tonight! The green would wave and it was Mari Aguilar leading the opening laps in her #80 machine, until a caution would fly and Lloyd Turner would get to the top of the chart. Noah Hollingshead would really try to catch him, but Turner extended his lead by a straightaway lead and would take the checker flag and would get his six pack!!!
One Thousand dollars were on the line for the USRA X-Mods, and it was Donovan Flores, side by side with Paddy Rush the whole race! It was a nail biter, Rush had good entrances in the corners, and Flores had the advantage on the exits. Paddy Rush made his car work on the bottom, and would pass Flores, but couldn't clear him. Finale Paddy Rush would get around Flores for the lead, and he would bank the $1,000.00! Paddy Ruch would also win the track championship!
Kyle Sager and Cesar Fuentes are the names that come up to your mind when it comes to Sprint Car racing this year at the Southern New Mexico Speedway. Tonight Fuentes started ninth and came to the front, with John Carney the II. Kyle Sager would have a good side by said battle with Brandon Shure on a restart, until it ended with Kyle Sager checking up and making contact with Brandon Shure. Sager went for a wicked ride off of turns one and two. The conclusion of this one was with Lorne Wofford on top of the chart with John Carney the II trying to pass him at the end. It was getting close, but Carney would run out of time.
A ton of great sponsors got together to make the $1,000.00 prize for the winner of the Super Trucks main event possible. Early in the race it was Walton Kyle Sr, and Walton Kyle Jr on top. Matt Higby was right behind them trying the crack the Walton Kyle show. Later here comes Brady Alberson, he would challenge the Walton Kyles and Matt Higby. A caution would fly, and right when we are coming to green, Brady Alberson comes to a stop!!! Alberson would have carburetor problems. After that the track was excellent, the middle started to come in, and Tom Sampson who started 16th was in the top 5! Walton Kyle Jr would slip off the back straight, with Top Sampson looking for extra spots. Later Walton Kyle Sr disappeared from the front, and it would be a Matt Higby show! Matt Higby in his interview was speechless, he came back in style after falling two positions short of the championship last time the Truck were here. Matt Higby walks away with an extra $1,000.00 laying in his wallet.
