Fito Gallardo Sweeps First Career Late Model Victory!

Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas were represented in the Southwest Super Late Models twenty five lap main event. Fito Gallardo has plenty of USRA Modified wins, but not one Late Model main event win. Friday night May 15th that changed in the history books. Fito Gallardo went to Phoenix, AZ early this week to buy a Rocket Chassi since his Masters Built was demolished. It performed really well as in the heat race Dave Deetz was super fast battling Fito to keep the lead, until Fito drove around him. The main event was the "Fito Gallardo Show" With a heat race win he would start on the pole. Gallardo lead from flag to flag to win his first ever Late Model main event.

Sherman Barnett  has been the one to stop in the Super Truck division. Last week Sherman clean sweeped the weekend. Tonight he took the lead from Rusty Bowen on lap three and wouldn't let go. Sherman Barnett was in a different  zip code, and would win the Super Truck Main event.

Danny Rodriguez was putting in work early in the USRA Street Stock main event until Todd Froats came and stole the lead. Later with nine laps in Robert Vega came to the front. Vega would slow down and Jamie Torres would pass him on lap twelve and would redeem his first "W" of 2015.

Talk about a memorable God Father Classic in the Casa Nissan Legends main event. The Legends honored the "God Father" Jim Funk. It was a memory for sure for Steven Arellano as he lead from flag to flag IN Jim Funks old car.

Alex Gonzalez has stepped-up his game this 2015 season in the USRA X-Mod division. Alex Gonzalez lead the opening couple of laps with heavy competition behind him like Christy Georges-Barnett, Jimmy Ray, Jacob Gallardo, John Carney Sr, and Paddy Rush. Well Alex saw Christy Georges pass for the lead until she broke! One circuit later Jacob Gallardo passes Gonzalez for the lead. Alex stayed strong to finish second, and Jacob Gallardo would win the USRA X-Mod main event.
