"Schools Out for Summer" Kids Night and Late Model 100 Highlight Racing at Ace, Kids Free!
(Altamahaw, NC): A big night of racing and fun is on tap this Friday, June 5th, at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC. The 4/10 mile asphalt oval will host a 100 lap feature for the County Ford / Quality Collision Solutions Late Model Stocks. Among drivers expected is last week’s winner, Dennis Holdren. Holdren out distanced runner up Thomas Scott in a 50 lapper on May 29th. Holdren leads Scott in season standings by 22 points. JohnMoore and Dean Fogleman are tied for third and Brad Kurth rounds out the top five.
As part of the "Schools Out for Summer" Kids night all kids 12 and under will be admitted Free of charge with at least one paying adult. In addition to free admission for kids, Space Walk of Alamance will be on hand to supervise and operate an Inflatable Playground featuring a Bounce House, Slide and 30' Obstacle course. The inflatable playground will operate between 6PM and 10PM.
Also on the card this week is a 75 lap feature for the Adams Towing and Recovery Modifieds. The always strong Brian King claimed another Ace win last week over Gary Young, Jr. King leads Young, Jr. by a scant 8 points. Randy Butner, John Lain and John Barilka round out the top five.
The Quick Cash Pawn Limited late Models have a 35 lap feature this week and the Builders Discount Center Extremes and Mini Stocks have 20 lappers on the schedule.
A special appearance by the Southern Ground Pounders is the “bonus” event this week. The vintage Modifieds and Late Models make their only Ace appearance this week.
Grandstands open at 6:00 PM for practice runs with qualifying set for 7:20. Racing starts at 8:00 PM. Admission is only $12.00 for Adults with Students, Seniors and Military at $10.00. Kids 12 and Under are FREE with a paying adult.
