Beiter, Arellano share Legends winner's circle at Western Tech Speedway Park
Welcome back to the Western Tech Speedway Park for another great night of racing with the USRA Modifieds, Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars, Casa Nissan Legends Cars and Claimers. Track went to a perfect dry slick for some epic slide job showdowns as we had five main events tonight.
The first race for the Casa Nissan Legends Cars would be 15 laps of back and forth action between multiple drivers. The 7 of Junior Esquivel would take the lead from 41z of Chris Smith after 1 complete and make it look like he was gonna steal the show. The 1x of Tom Zuloaga had other ideas and slid his way into second quickly. After 5 with 10 to go the top 4of 7, 1x, 9 and 902 where all bumper-to-bumper. The 7 of Esquivel would block the high side but he looses it! The 1x of Zuloaga into the lead clean now with the 89 of Tyler Beiter right on his bumper. 1x won’t lead long and the 9 finds the groove and shoots to the lead. Only 6 to go and caution #1 in this one. On the restart the 9 would shoot away but it was the 54 of Gunner Harris coming into the top 4 to give 'em all a run. Harris into third after some slick moves and the 9 pulling away. With 5 to go another caution would strike but it was the restart bringing all the drama. The 1x would get back around the 9 for the lead as they dove into 1! The 9 steals it right back into turn 3! The cat and mouse game was on. Gunner Harris would find an opening in the battle and steal second away! Harris on the move late in this one. White flag flying and Harris would give it two more goes for the win but nothing would stick high or low and as the checkered dropped it was the 9 of Beiter winning it after fending off the whole field!! The 54 of Gunner Harris second and the 1x holds onto third and the 902 will come home 4th.

Sun Valley USRA Stock Cars were definitely an interesting one as we started 9 cars and ended with only 3 tonight! The 44Jt of Jaime Torres would get the lead early in this one and take off from the field. A few cars pulled off after only a few laps here and stayed out of the way for the 44JT to just keep cruising. The 13 of Victor Colorbio into second with 12 to go but the 44JT way up ahead. Colorbio unable to close in and 10 to go the 13 with trouble his night would be done. The 17 of Chris Mijares inheriting second place back but 44Jt absolutely gone. 05 of Aasa Flores into third now but 8 to go and the caution would come out for the 44JT who broke the front end and drove straight into the wall over turn1!! The 44Jt done after absolutely dominating this one. The 17 inheriting another position and now leads with 8 to go. The 5 of Flores not gonna give up easy and he would be all over the 17 all the way down to the wire. The 5 getting into the 17 with 3 to go but Mijares under control and as the checkered flew Chris Mijares in the 17 would pick up the checkered flag! The5 of Aasa Flores second and the 777 Jaime Montelongo sliding into second.

The Claimers would be an easy one to call, as only 2 cars would run 10 laps tonight. Best class to start in racing as its cheap and fun. The 13 of Jannah Gibson would take the lead early and her competitor 1x Jordan Kimpel would run it in hard to keep up. The 1x would sit and wait for a mistake from the 13 but that mistake would never happen and it was the 13 of Jannah Gibson winning 2 in a row at the park.

The USRA Modifieds where the headliner tonight and its easy to see why! These devils of dirt always put on an action packed show. The 65 of Carlos Ahumada would start on the pole but almost as soon as the green flag dropped it was the G17 of Fito Gallardo slicing and dicing his way into the lead. As they entered turn 1 Fito would drop from the outside line of row 2 like a bird in the sky and go straight to the front! Fito pulled a hug lead by the time they came back to the stripe but the field was gonna go toe to toe all night long. The 28 of Georges, 65 of Ahumada, and 71 of Houston would take it three wide for second! The 28 would take it for now and the field would thin out just a bit. The 111 of Bumper Jones charging into the top 4 but it wouldn’t last long because here comes the Bossman Royal Jones underneath him with a slider! With 19 to go in this 25 lap race the 71 of Phillip Houston would finally get back around the 28 of Georges for second! Georges holding onto second for 5 laps there as Phillip Houston worked on a plan. The G17 a full straight ahead with 15 to go! The 131 into third with 13 to go but both drivers are way back from the G17. Houston barely closing in the G17 but Royal Jones is headed right for the back of that 71 quickly. Only 7 laps to go and the 131 grenading a motor down the backstretch! Smoke everywhere and the 131 is done but we stay green for now. With 6 to go the G17 would be out of luck because the caution would fly. Rebunch the field and the 71 right on the G17 now with 28 back in the mix. Clean restart and the 71 all over the G17 as the 111 slides his way into third! Only 2 to go and the 71 of Houston close enough to make something happen in this one still. Wouldn’t matter how close he was though because as the final flag fell the G17 of Fito Gallardo would go flag to flag and win yet another feature event in the USRA modifieds. Phillip Houston had a hard charge tonight and second will do.

Another feature from the Casa Nissan Legends Cars tonight just to keep the perfect track grooving and a fun one for the fans. Another 15 laps in this one and the 7 if Esquivel back to the front again. The 237 of Steven Arellano wasting no time here and straight to the lead around a fading Esquivel. A caution with 13 to go keeps things interesting but 237 away as the 1x of tom Zuloaga breaks into second with his brother Mike right behind in third. The 237 with a fight on his hands as the 1x is using every line he can to get the lead away! Only 4 to go and the 1x takes it low!! Tom Zuloaga leads at the line! They would go door to door one more time on the second to last lap but the 1x holding strong. As they come to the white the 1x goes high in 4 and almost looses it! The door just swung wide open for the 237 and Arellano not wasting an opportunity tonight! Arellano leads and Zuloaga doesn’t have time to get him back! As the checkered flag waved it was the 237 of Steven Arellano running a solid and consistent race to come home with a big win tonight. Tom Zuloaga was there at the end but not enough time to get the lead back and second is where he will fall. The902 of Mike Zuloaga put down some sliders tonight and third is where he stopped.

If you missed all the great racing tonight then don’t be late next weekend as the Border International Truck 305 winged sprint cars go at it once again! Gates open at 5:30 racing starts at 7:45.
