USRA X-Mod drivers in the Southwest will be getting their dirt on during the next eight weeks at the Western Tech Speedway Park. With only eight Friday nights left at the famous West Texas clay oval the Western Tech Speedway Park; the USRA Street Stocks won’t be the only class to race every Friday night. The USRA X-Mods have been added to run every Friday night till the Last Lap Pass September 2nd.
USRA X-Mods have always joined the Border International Truck 305 Winged Sprint Cars on Sprint Car nights, and now are going to be apart of the USRA Modified nights. The USRA X-Mods were only planning on four more races at “The Park”. With the addition of the USRA X-Mods racing on USRA Modified nights this will give a chance for USRA X-Mod drivers to get more USRA National Points!
The Western Tech Speedway Park, and sister track Southern New Mexico Speedway are known for having some of the best dirt track racers in the United States. The two local dirt tracks are also known for being home to USRA National Champions in the previous years. Such as Justin “Faster” Lasiter from Alamogordo, New Mexico in a USRA Street Stock. Jacob Gallardo, and Fito Gallardo in USRA Modifieds, and others.
With the addition of the four races (Including the Last Lap Pass) in the USRA X-Mod division at the Western Tech Speedway Park it will give a chance for a possible USRA X-Mod driver in the Southwest area to be a possible USRA X-Mod National Champion.
The current leader in the USRA National Points Standings is Ryan Gillmore from Springfield, Missouri. Gillmore has 23 main event starts, 16 victories, 22 top 5’s, 22 top 10’s, and 4330 USRA National points. Gillmore leads the USRA National point standing by ONE POINT over Kris Jackson.

Ryan Gillmore is the current national points leader.
The nearest USRA X-Mod driver in the USRA National Points Standings here in the Southwest is the 52tx of Paddy Rush the “Horizon City Monster” from Horizon City, Texas. Rush who races both Western Tech Speedway Park and Southern New Mexico Speedway is standing 59th in USRA National points as of today (7/13/16). Paddy Rush who has nearly half the starts that Ryan Gillmore has might have a shot for the USRA title. With the addition to his schedule Rush is looking at seventeen more races in 2016 between the two dirt tracks in the Southwest if he attends them. Paddy Rush has 12 starts, 0 wins, 8 top 5’s, 12 top 10’s, and 2350 USRA National Points.
The 7c of John Carney Sr. from El Paso, Texas is second closet from the Southwest in USRA National Points Standing sitting in 65th with 12 starts, 1 win, 9 top 5’s, 12 top 10’s, and 2297 USRA National Points. With only half the starts that Gillmore has for both these drivers and other local USRA X-Mod drivers it can be possible for a Southwest USRA X-Mod National Champion upon our eyes.

El Paso's John Carney Sr.
Without of the addition of these extra four races for the USRA X-Mods; drivers would only have thirteen races to look forward to, and not have a big shot to for the USRA National Title. Now with this opportunity USRA X-Mod drivers are going to put their big boy shoes on, and race for every point, and position in the USRA National Points Standings. Racing is going to be more intense in the USRA X-Mods at the Western Tech Speedway Park, and Southern New Mexico Speedway.
The dates that are being added for the USRA X-Mods at the Western Tech Speedway Park are July 22nd with the USRA Street Stocks, Claimers, Casa Nissan Legends, and the USRA Modifieds; August 5th with the USRA Street Stocks, Claimers, Casa Nissan Legends, and the USRA Modifieds; August 19th with the same divisions, and the Last Lap Pass Labor Day Weekend September 2nd.
